Job Title: Junior Web Developer

Job Summary:
As a Junior Web Developer at Primal Communications, you will be responsible for developing PHP websites and applications for our clients. You should have at least a couple years experience with PHP and be able to create your own applications utilizing a database. You will be working with the Senior Web Developer on multiple projects with strict timelines.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Planning, development, and support of PHP-powered applications
- Communication with clients throughout project
- Deploying to LAMP-based web hosting environments
- Application testing before and after launch in multiple web browsers
- Project Documentation
Minimum Requirements:
- Solid foundation with standards-compliant HTML
- Solid understanding of programming fundamentals
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with PHP for application development
- Experience creating MySQL database schemas and queries
- Experience implementing jQuery and related plugins
- Able to work well with a team
- Good communication skills
- Capable of taking direction and reporting to senior web developer
- Able to be present at our office in Nanaimo for client meetings
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with PHP frameworks such as CodeIgnitor and Drupal
- Experience with theming Wordpress and related plugins
- Experience with Flash/Flex and AS 3.0
- Experience creating User Interfaces
- Experience integrating third-party APIs into PHP applications
- Experience with ASP.Net and MsSQL
- Experience with email-delivery services such as Campaign Monitor
- Experience configuring Linux website hosting for clients
- Able to convert a PSD into an HTML and CSS page that displays properly in modern web browsers
- Knowledge of popular social networks and integration with client websites
- Problem-solving skills to assist with client website issues
- Experience with GIT and/or SVN
