News: WOW, AMAZING, PHENOMENAL and, “Can we do that again”?

February 12, 2013

Primal's recent rebranding for the Pacific Rim Whale Festival's 25th anniversary got noticed. Deborah Griffiths from the Courtenay & District Museum and Palaeontology Centre saw the logo Primal designed and knew she needed to get in touch with the designers about rebranding the Courtenay & District Museum and Palaeontology Centre. After an initial phone call an on-site visit was scheduled with a real 'dinosaur dig' organized for a few of the Primal Tribe's children, all we have to say is, “WOW, AMAZING, PHENOMENAL and when can we do that again?"

“If you haven't been to Courtenay recently, this is worth the trip. Great for all ages, the Museum and Palaeontology Centre offers a glimpse into the past that draws visitors from around the world. Hundreds of marine fossils, including an 80 million year old elasmosaur, wait to be rediscovered by visitors to the museum", adds Robert Dodds, Creative Director & President of Primal Communications.

After experiencing the museum and a fossil tour (Dino Dig), the Primal Tribe went to work on creating an identity and brand system for the museum, including stationery, web site design, advertising and a complete signage, way finding, and a custom display system for the museum’s interior and more.

" We looked for a long time to find a communications company that would have the design expertise to convey our unique message. When we saw the logo Primal designed for the Pacific Rim Whale Festival, we knew we had found the right company. Marine animals—especially 80 million year old animals with long necks, require a special talent to make them come alive. Primal Communications was able to quickly take this complex subject and represent it simply in a sophisticated and fun manner for the Courtenay and District Museum and Palaeontology Centre. The Primal team listened to our vision for communicating with national and international visitors and provided outstanding designs for web, signage and exhibition story lines. Primal helped us convey to funders and the public that the museum is a “must see” British Columbia destination. The museum, with positive response from the community, is proud to raise the bar--thanks to Primal Communications."
